Welcome to NC Farm Center

Founder Sharon Valentine believes the land is the vital link between our past and our future. Valentine assembled a diverse group of community leaders, farming and forestry experts and ecologists to help her launch the Farm Center on her farm in North Carolina. The farm once housed one of the largest turkey farms in the country. It will now serve as a place to showcase and test innovative ideas and projects meant to nurture the ecology of rural areas and boost the economic potential of local people.

Our Mission

Our mission is to demonstrate that sustainable agriculture and forest-management practices can work in harmony with the natural world and help preserve precious resources, while still bringing profit to farmers and landowners. We strive to show that innovation and sustainable farming and forestry practices can be combined to find new ways of producing marketable crops and forest products.
